Ideas for holidays, weekends and trips in Bordeaux and its surroundings
The city of Bordeaux has much to offer, and while staying at the Hotel Campanile Bordeaux Est- Artigues, you won't have a dull moment in this stunning part of France. Of particular interest might be the International Fishing Competition, which takes place every year during the second weekend in March.
Later on in the year is Les Grands Crus Musicaux, which is a festival of classical music which takes place in some of Bordeaux's most beautiful chateaux every July. This is a spectacular event not to be missed! Museums abound in Bordeaux, and the Centre National Jean Moulin is worth a visit for anyone interested in history. It tells the story of the French Resistance during the Second World War, and gives tours in French and English.
Another museum that might take your fancy is the Musée d'Art Contemporain(Contemporary Art Museum), or the Musée des Beaux-Arts (Fine Art museum) for a big helping of art and culture during your stay. Of course, no trip to Bordeaux would be complete without sampling some of the local wine! Wine tours are available wherever you look, and every tour will have some of the best wines of the region available to try and buy.
There is also a museum which is all about the history of wine-making and wine trading with a tasting session to complete your visit. What more could you ask for?
